Sarah Tuan is a pianist whose artistry is defined by expressive depth, lyrical sensitivity, and a refined musical voice. Since her concerto debut at age ten, she has appeared on stages across the United States and Europe, with performances in Germany, Italy, Poland, Austria, and Denmark. Her U.S. engagements include Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, New York Steinway Hall, Klavierhaus, and the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall. Her work has been broadcast on NPR’s From the Top and WRTI 90.1, reaching national audiences.

Sarah has been invited to participate in a number of respected international competitions, including the Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw and the Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition. She is a first prize winner of both the San Jose and Philadelphia International Piano Competitions, and was awarded second prize in the Mieczyslaw Munz Piano Scholarship Competition.

Her development as an artist has been shaped by training at leading summer programs such as the Frost Chopin Academy, the Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin Piano Academy, the Philadelphia Young Pianists Academy, and the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University. She is a returning fellow at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music School and Festival, where she was first invited in 2024.

Committed to continual growth, Sarah has performed in masterclasses for esteemed artists including Robert Levin, Mikhail Voskresensky, and Sir Andras Schiff at The Juilliard School. Her chamber collaborations include performances with violinist Richard Lin, presented by Artch Foundation Inc.

Recent highlights include her appearance in the Chopin For All concert series, hosted by the Chopin Foundation of the United States; a featured performance in New York’s Salon Concerts at Klavierhaus; and a central role in the forthcoming documentary Moonlight, performing on a bespoke Bösendorfer art piano designed by Pollaro Inc.

Alongside her performance career, Sarah is engaged in arts leadership and education. She has served as a Student Board Member for the Steinway Society of the Bay Area and was a guest speaker and translator for the Cliburn Junior International Piano Competition. She currently holds a Teaching Fellowship at The Juilliard School, where she is completing her Master of Music degree under the guidance of Robert McDonald. She earned her Bachelor of Music in 2024.
